Diagnosed with ADHD in his late 20s, Aaron had spent decades believing he was lazy or undisciplined rather than neurologically different — and had experienced extreme stress and self-criticism when completing projects and goals. After finishing graduate school for filmmaking, he’d daydreamed about many creative projects he wanted to do, but had been unable to build momentum. Sick of the psychological cost of pursuing ambitious goals, he knew there had to be a better way.
Aaron searched for ADHD coaches and discovered Tori Throckmorton of Divergent Coaching. Rather than applying a rigid productivity system, Aaron loved that Tori sought to understand how his brain already worked. Together, they identified patterns such as time blindness, hyperfocus cycles, and daily energy rhythms, and designed systems that aligned with these traits instead of fighting them. This strengths-based approach replaced self-criticism with self-trust and sustainable momentum.
Because of his work with Tori, Aaron has:
Successfully embarked on a feature-length documentary project, where he’s secured funding with an NGO
Sourced and led a professional production team and managed a sizable budget
Maintained six months of sustained hyperfocus throughout filming
Transformed from a stalled dreamer into an active, confident project leader
Replaced anxiety-driven productivity with sustainable creative momentum
Gained lasting confidence that extends across professional and personal life
“For years, I thought about doing so many things and none of it happened. The daydreaming and the desire was there, but not the follow through. Tori was a great thought partner for me and challenged me to think about myself in new ways. She goes so much deeper than traditional therapy and brings a remarkable curiosity and insight that allows you to find it within yourself to positively activate yourself. I genuinely don’t think that without Tori’s insight and help I would have made the progress I’ve made to date.”
